Dolby Atmos offers a new way to consume music. By distributing the sounds in three-dimensional space, you are completely enveloped by the sound, which becomes a more realistic and intense listening experience. With the ability to listen to Dolby Atmos content as a binaural version through headphones, you are offered an unparalleled sound experience whenever and wherever you want.
The Dolby Atmos mix is done in our 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos control room using the individual tracks, which can be delivered as single WAV files, pre-grouped stems, or as a complete Pro Tools or Pyramix project. The stereo master is used as a reference for the mix to maintain the character of the piece.
For an immersive mix to have a noticeable effect, there should be at least six stems, but preferably more than ten.
The final product is the so-called “ADM BWF WAV” file, also known as Dolby Atmos Masterfile. Together with the stereo version, it is made available to the distribution partners and published on the streaming services.
